Have passion for creativity!

If you are very passionate about your creativity you will inspire and encourage others everyday! This is a priceless gift!

Happy reading!

How to uncover your creativity

What is your creativity? By asking some people this question I realized that most of us don't really know what is their creative talent (or talents). Of course-some people who are aware of their talent(s) in a many variety of fields are the true exception. I would say these people are the lucky ones as they live their passion and do what they love. Might it be every day or sometimes.

If you are not sure where your creative talent lies you simply have to embark on a journey of inner discovery. Search and explore your interest and wonder what artistic tasks really brings you joy and happiness in life. Be patient as it might  take a while to figure out your creative talent(s). When you discover your creativity you will know. What ever it might be you fill feel it in your heart. For some the journey of trying to find their creativity continues through their lives.

Some people including myself have searched for their creative talents and also learned many new skills and knowledge. Sometimes we change careers in our lives just like our interests change directions.

So what ever your uncovered talent might be start to listen to your heart and soul. Try different creative things.Be imaginative, courageous and have fun. Do what ever your heart tells you to do. I strongly believe that most creative people feel an inner calling to do something particular. Unfortunately, sometimes we all are just too busy life itself. We don't take enough time for ourselves to do something which fulfills an empty spot in our hearts.

I was a very creative child and always excelled in art classes and learning languages. Although I never forgot my creative talents I never really lived my passion of creative writing. When I rediscovered it later in life I felt an  joy, happiness and most of all what I like to express as an inner enlightenment. Writing and illustrating for young readers is my true passion-that's what I know 4 sure.

Happy discovery on your journey to unleash your creativity!

The joy of creative writing

Creative writing is considered any artistic writing which communicates a writer’s thoughts and emotions in a cultivated, enchanting, imaginative and poetic style.

Creative writing should be considered an art. Some people are lucky to discover it early on and some struggle to uncover this talent and or learn the skills. Any body can write something. But is it original, creative, enchanting, interesting, charismatic, engaging, unique? Is it written from the heart?

I believe that talented creative writers are inspired and driven by true passion for what they are writing about. Being a creative children's writer is my great passion and inspiring challenge. I am driven by my passion for creating delightful imaginary worlds for my story's characters and an unique inspiring message for the young readers of my children's book.

I always loved to write creative and motivating stories.Somehow I forgot about my talent for many years. When I recently rediscovered my love and passion  for creative writing I decided to put it into work in my debut children's book "My Fuzzy's World".

When I write a creative children's story I feel joy, happiness, creativity and a purpose. I am confident what I am writing about and enjoy sharing my imaginary world to teach children about the essence of family, friendship, courage, creating colorful dreams and determination to follow their dreams and make them come true.Creative writing for children fulfills my unique dream. Now I now for sure that writing for children is my true passion.

I like to share the following profound quotes on creativity and writing:

"There is the happiness which comes from creative effort. The joy of dreaming, creating, building, whether in painting a picture, writing an epic, singing a song, composing a symphony, devising new invention, creating a vast industry."

Henry Miller, American novelist and painter.

"To me, the greatest pleasure of writing is not what it's about, but the inner music the words make."

Truman Capote,  American author.

Take a Moment to Dream!

Thought of the day-take a moment to dream.....

"It will cost you nothing to dream and everything not to" art print by Jo Moulton on art.com

Enjoy and remember to encourage children to pursue their dreams!

Encourage children to pursue their dreams!

Encourage children to pursue their dreams and you give a wonderful and unique gift of love for passion and courage in life. When a child discovers a fresh interest in exploring something new and creative any adult should simply express encouragement and offer loving support. Sometimes a newly born interest might switch to different one very soon as children go trough many creative phases growing up.

I love the idea to teach children to colour outside the lines and to think outside the box. Be creative, passionate, smart and courageous when it comes to dreams and aspirations. Believe in your dreams. It costs nothing and everything if you don't dream at all. Later when we live our very busy lives one needs to continue to pursue new dreams to simply progress in life and to make sure that the passion to dream is being kept alive like a beautiful rare flower.

Little geniuses are among us. They are playing instruments like an experienced pro, singing their hearts and souls out, dancing like a famous ballerina, drawing like a true artists-many different talents are 'jumping towards the sky' which is has no limit because they truly belive they can accompish their goals!

Many rare and unique talents of different kinds are awakened early in life. There are little Einsteins understanding science better than an adult or painting like a young Picasso. Encourage children to dream big dreams and you will teach a child that nothing in life is impossible to accomplish.

While being taught and inspired that pursuing a dream leads children  successfully towards a happy and ambitious life they also feel loved more as their interests are appreciated and strengthen.

As a little girl I was encouraged to be artistic-to paint, draw and write stories. These passions stayed with me until today and I am glad that I learned early on to draw outside the lines. I always loved my creativity which now led me to fulfill my dream of becoming a published children's writer and illustrator of "My Fuzzy's World'', which is the first story in the seriens of My Fuzzy's World adventures books. I am very ambitious to keep my dream alive to grow.

So give children the biggest gift of love-the encouragement and passion to pursue dreams!

Reading is fun!

I very much enjoy looking at vintage art prints and posters of different genre. Here is one my favourite children's book art poster prints created by Maurice Sendak titled "Reading is Fun".

It is available on Amazon.com.

Why we must teach young children to treasure printed books

I strongly believe that adults need to encourage and inspire young readers to discover, develop and maintain the interest for reading printed books for life. Reading an e-book on a computer screen is not the same wonderful joyous experience as holding a printed book in your hands.

Today's constant evolving technology captures our busy every day lives in many aspects. The Internet is a big part of our lives for work, research and for fun. The children's education process is now advanced trough the integration of high end technology from early on in the classrooms. Children literally now grow upon computers.

When I was inspired as a young child to fall in love reading printed books I also discovered a world of magic filled with many wonderful stories and characters and the joy of holding a book in my hands. Until today I love the feel and touch of the pages of a book and the feeling of being captivated and fully engaged into another exciting world of adventures.

I especially appreciate what I call the old world of books-almost antiquarian books, like an early edition. When I lived in Europe, I loved strolling through old bookstores to pick up some special treasures. Sadly, these type of old fashioned book stores seem to only survive in Europe.

If a young child never discovers the treasure of reading printed books it will never know and learn the appreciation for printed words on paper and the unique smell and touch of a book. The computer screen should never replace the printed book especially when it comes to children's books for young readers. One simply can't fully appreciate the a book on a computer!

I always loved cuddling up with a good book since I was little. No computer screen can ever replace that warm and comforting feeling for me. Books travel with you your whole life. Books don't need power to be read and are always encouraging and comforting when you need them around you. It's like a very good friend who never abandons your friendship.

So encourage young children to discover the beauty of printed books! Once they discover this great joy they will be thankful for ever.

My Fuzzy's World self-publishing journey

I entered the world of self-publishing with no previous experience and a lot of great expectations. I was determined to find a well renowned and respected source with a fair price package and quality and experience behind the name. Besides researching web related self-publishing resources I also explored local BC book publishers whose prices were too high.

There are many web based POD (Print on Demand) Publishers. Most of them offer a complementary phone consultation requiring about your self-publishing needs. After a long decision making process with my husband Richard we finally decided to choose Booksurge Publishing which is now transitioning into Create Space. After comparing many other price packages from POD Publishers the final decision was based on the fact that Booksurge offers a complementary listing on Amazon.

The publishing process took approx. 6 months. Boosurge offers a professional account management team via phone and email during business hours and a toll free number. After two rounds of editing my book was transferred to the Design team which accommodated me very well in regards to my self designed cover concept for "My Fuzzy's World". We were able to choose the desired page colors and fonts and some special requests in regards to the book decoration were fulfilled with no problems.

The book arrived as a PDF file for final approval before being printed as proof and authorized by us for final printing and self-publishing.

Overall we had a great  and positive experience with Booksurge and we are very happy with the look of "My Fuzzy's World."

Inspire children!

I strongly believe that children of all ages need to be inspired continuously. In my first children's book My Fuzzy's World I share the importance of pursuing dreams and following your heart. Although my characters are plush animals they also have colorful dreams and aspirations.

I spend several years caring for four boys from infant to toddler age as a live in nanny in Canada.  I learned many wonderful things which only young children can teach you. One of the most beloved things I loved to do with the boys was to inspire them to listen to children's stories and later on to fall in love with reading great children's books. The power of great children's books is amazing! Children learn to embrace new adventures and also to create their own colorful dreams. I believe that children can be inspired immensely by being read to as early as possible.

Children need to know that dreams come true. In My Fuzzy's World all of my characters have a dream they want to come true. My beloved plush lion Fuzzy dreams of finding a new loving home and family. He has to overcome many obstacles until he finds true happiness.

In my book My Fuzzy's World I want to inspire young readers to dream their own colorful dreams and believe that one day a dream can come true if you just believe and pursue a dream. After all, dreams are precious. I think children need to believe that what ever great they dream to accomplish in live-nothing is impossible!

My cat Maya is an important character in My Fuzzy's World

My beloved grey Tabby cat Maya is one of the treasured characters in My Fuzzy's World. Besides she is a truly dearly beloved cat which we rescued as a kitten. My husband Richard and I wanted to rescue a kitten to give it a happy and safe life. Maya entered our lives three years ago and today we can't imagine living without her. She has greatly enriched our lives with happiness and joy since the first day she arrived in our home.

I have dedicated two chapters to Maya in My Fuzzy's World, simply because she is such an important part of my story and also our real lives. I strongly believe that Maya is a wise cat and a truly unique soul! She especially loves to play hide and seek with us and also loves chasing  after  little paper balls which we enjoy throwing. We want to keep her safe and therefore she is an indoor cat. Maya is very beautiful and always will have a very special place in our hearts.

Maya also inspires me to write and illustrate for children and to create My Fuzzy's World.  I have illustrated Maya from this picture I have taken about one year ago. You can see Maya's pastel drawing in My Fuzzy's World. Enjoy!

The chapters of My Fuzzy's World

Occasionally I get asked how I created the titles for my 23 chapters in My Fuzzy's World. Most people don't believe me when I mention proudly that they just came to my mind one day. Actually-this is a true story. When I first started to create the story My Fuzzy's World in my imagination I could also visualize my chapters and  illustrations. I simply had an outline for my story which I then slowly built on continuously.

Most of the chapter names originated from the names I have given to my beloved plush animals. I wanted my story to be inspirational and magical for young readers. Because I already had the creative idea for my story I didn't worry about the titles of my chapters.  I felt confident that one day the chapter titles would present themselves to me and so it happened. I rather focused on my goal to write and illustrate a very unique children's book and believed in my creative talent. I am proud of what I have created!

I strongly believe as a writer that once you can imagine your story the idea title or the chapter titles will naturally appear once the story unfolds.

Here are the chapters of My Fuzzy's World:

1. My Special World
2. The End of My Very Long Journey
3. The Place I Proudly Call My Home
4. Rudi, the Purple Bear
5. A Guiding Light
6. Lily, the Lilac Lamb
7. Sophie, the Sumatran Tiger
8. A New Sense of Adventure
9. Marli, the Polite Little Brown Bear
10. Where Is Maya?
11. Robby, the Little Seal Who Gets Lost
12. Uncle Maurice
13. Lulu, the Pink Sheep
14. Maya’s Arrival
15. Awaiting Fuzzinette
16. Booboo Leo
17. Secrets of My Friendships
18. Little Mayanette
19. PJ, the Horse in Pajamas
20. Magic Times
21. How Love Healed My Broken Heart
22. True Happiness
23. Why My Family Is So Special
24. Dreams Come True

How My Fuzzy’s World came to life

One day some years ago a charming young man gave me a very unique little plush lion as a gift of love and friendship. I began to truly treasure my new little friend who quickly became my beloved companion.

Some might think that plush animals are only children’s treasured friends and once they grow up these dearly loved ones are put or given away. That might be true for some people. You see, I didn’t feel too old to have a plush companion as a grown up. In my big heart there is lots of space for unique people and also plush friends.

My dearly beloved Fuzzy left a big foot print in my heart for ever. And so did the charming young man who once gifted me this adorable little friend. I began to build a delightful imaginary world for my adored Fuzzy. He soon became a big part of my happy life. With time my plush friend family began to expand and so did my joyful imagination about my beloved plush friends. I began to dream about writing a children’s book for young readers featuring all my adored plush friends and their unique imaginary lives which I created out of love and fun. Then I began to draw my plush friends and somehow discovered quickly how well they looked like the real plush ones. That’s how my dream became a very ambitious goal. I then worked very hard to bring my story and all the characters to life in my book.

If you like to find out why Fuzzy is so unique and how he got his name you might want to buy my children’s book on Amazon. You might find that you might be charmed with my story of how my dear Fuzzy and his loving plush friends learn about the essence of friendship, love, family and diversity. It is written and illustrated for ages 4-8. Maybe you might like to gift this book to someone special in your life. I invite you to visit my website www.myfuzzysworld.com.
